One of the most popular cultivars of Golden Enoki mushrooms in Asia is Flammulina velutipes, a member of the Physalacriaceae family. Aside from these names, the mushroom is also referred to as Enokitake, Velvet Foot, Golden Needle, Lily, Jingu in Chinese, Nim Kim Châm in Vietnamese, and Paengi Beoseot in Korean. GE mushrooms are grown in the sunshine, which gives them their golden-brown hues, but they are kept in an environment with little to no oxygen, which keeps the stems long and the caps flat. The Chinese hackberry tree, persimmon, ash, and mulberry tree are where you can find golden enoki mushrooms growing in bunches on trees in the wild. The mushroom's appearance in the wild differs greatly from that of the cultivated species because they are bigger with a wider cap, sticky, and have a more uniform color. Strong earthly notes make this mushroom a stable in any soup or dish.
